About Mote Farm

Welcome to our new website for Mote Farm!

Mote Farm is a 350 acre farm in Sevenoaks, Kent. 350 acres is the same size as 265 football pitches!  The farm is owned by the National Trust and forms part of the Ightham Mote Estate.

Who we are:

We are the Broad family. Our family have been the tenant farmers since September 2015 but we have had involvement with the farm for more than 20 years.

We are working closely with the National Trust to manage the farm in a traditional regenerative way whilst trying to help the wildlife at the farm thrive.

Our ambition for the farm is to welcome the general public into the countryside to embrace the beauty that surrounds us.

Charity Tractor Runs:

Twice a year we welcome everyone onto the farm either to join in the fun with their tractor or just come along for a chat.

Our bacon rolls and homemade cakes go down a treat.

We then go on a 15-20 mile route around the local countryside whilst raising money for charities. We have hosted 14 tractor runs and raised £23,574.00 so far!

We host events on the farm every year which are open to the public. Please see all the details below.

Open Farm Sunday:

This is a National Farming Open Day to welcome the public onto the farm to learn about where their food comes from.

Please see the attached flyer.

Please note:

  • Please do not bring dogs to this event, we will have our livestock in the farmyard and they aren't used to dogs and will become stressed.

  • The event takes place on the farm so their is rough ground and uneven terrain.

  • You will be asked to step on a disinfectant mat on arrival and departure, so please wear appropriate footwear.
